An iconic retirement home changes hands after being in the same family for 35 years.
Commercial real estate advisor Christie & Co has announced the sale of the Crawshaw Hall Nursing Home and Medical Center, located on Burnley Road, Crawshawbooth.
Housed in a magnificent late Georgian mansion, the retirement home was opened by Harry and Eileen Karoo in 1987 and provides specialist care for people aged 50 and over who suffer from a wide range of ailments. psychological.
Crawshaw Hall Medical Center opened in the spring of 1995 and was designed to provide nursing and residential care to young adults over the age of 18 with medical and / or physical disabilities.
Sold to Constantia Care Homes for an undisclosed price, the business was brought to market by Harry, Eileen and their son, Marc. Harry and Eileen plan to retire and Certified Care Manager Marc will continue to work from home to ensure a smooth transfer.
The new owners are part of the Constantia Healthcare group, which currently operates two homes in Middlesbrough and Queens Lodge in Blackburn.

The Grade II listed mansion was built in the 1830s by John Brooks, a printer and quarry owner, spanning five acres of landscaped gardens set on the edge of 27 acres of forest land overlooking Limy Water.
It underwent a major renovation in 2016 with funding from NatWest Bank, with an extension providing spacious luxury accommodation for people with medical and physical disabilities.
