Iredell Health System is pleased to announce that Iredell Wound and Hyperbaric Care Center has received the Center of Distinction award from Healogics®, the nation’s largest provider of advanced wound care services.

In order to receive this award, Iredell Wound Care & Hyperbaric Center has achieved outstanding clinical results over the past 12 consecutive months, including patient satisfaction rates above 92% and a minimum healing rate of at least 92% within the median 28 days to heal.

“We are very proud to receive this recognition. Our staff takes care of each of our patients as if they were their own family. We use all available and appropriate modalities to help our patients achieve the highest level of success,” said Megan Purser, Certified Nurse Practitioner at Iredell Wound Care & Hyperbaric Center.

Since 2011, the Iredell Wound Care & Hyperbaric Center, operated by Healogics, Inc., has successfully served and cared for patients with diabetic ulcers, pressure ulcers, infections and other chronic wounds that do not have not healed within a reasonable time. Associated with inadequate circulation, poorly functioning veins and immobility, chronic wounds lead to reduced quality of life and eventual amputation.

Following an interdisciplinary model of care, Iredell Wound Care offers infectious disease management, physical therapy, occupational therapy, laboratory assessment, nutritional management, pain management, diabetes education and other areas to address the overall health of patients.

To treat chronic wounds, the Iredell Wound Care & Hyperbaric Center offers advanced, state-of-the-art treatments such as negative pressure wound therapy, total contact molding, bioengineered tissues, biosynthetic dressings, and factor therapies. of growth. The center also offers hyperbaric oxygen therapy, which works by surrounding the patient with 100% oxygen to help advance wound healing.

The Iredell Wound Care & Hyperbaric Center has a nurse manager who is both certified in wound care and certified in heart failure. The center has caring staff with many years of experience in wound care. Additionally, the medical provider overseeing the treatment at the center has received specialized training from Healogics. The provider also offers an individualized care plan based on each patient’s specific underlying health conditions.
